Yes we are thinking of Christmas already, you will need it in time for the 1st of December so you can fill it with treats! This workshop is suited to someone with basic sewing machine knowledge. If you have no experience then we would recommend completing our introduction to sewing course.
What you will learn:
How to cut a pre-printed fabric
How to prepare and stitch all the pockets
How to correctly apply all the pockets
How to create the tab hanging
How to add the batting (wadding) and the backing fabric
How to finish the edges
What you will need to bring:
Advent calendar panel
Wadding same width as your panel
Cotton backing fabric same width as your panel
Thread and all the tools needed for the class
Hot or cold drinks, biscuits and cakes
Suitable for novices and those with some basic machine sewing knowledge/skill.
Teacher - Alison
Alison has always designed and made things from an early age. After studying commercial fashion design, pattern cutting, manufacturing, knitwear and product design she completed a further degree in Design teaching. She has spent the last 28 years teaching a wide range of design subjects, including textiles to GCSE and A’level standard. Whilst teaching she also completed a City & Guilds in Millinery and has for the past 8 years been creating bespoke couture hats, fascinators, bags and accessories for clients, selling work through bridal shops and makers markets. She has also run fascinator, hen parties and craft classes across the South West.
